How to Make a Slipper Strap: Step-by-Step Guide

Welcome to my channel, Naveed BH! In this video, I will guide you through the process of making a slipper strap, also known as a hawai chappal strap. Whether you are looking to repair your favorite pair of slippers or create your own unique straps, this tutorial is for you. Follow along as I demonstrate each step, and soon you’ll have a brand new strap for your slippers!

Step 1: Gather the Materials

Before we begin, let’s gather all the materials we’ll need for this project. You will need:

Nylon webbing
Buckles
Scissors
Lighter
Measuring tape

Step 2: Measure and Cut the Webbing

Using a measuring tape, measure the length of your old strap or the desired length of your new strap. Add a few extra inches for adjustments. Once you have the measurement, cut the nylon webbing to the appropriate length using a pair of scissors.

Step 3: Make Adjustments and Attach Buckles

Now, it’s time to make any necessary adjustments to the length of the strap. Put on your slippers and test the length. If it’s too long, trim the excess webbing. If it’s too short, cut a new piece of webbing and attach it to the existing strap using a lighter to melt the ends together.

Next, attach the buckles to the strap. Slide the webbing through one end of the buckle, fold it over, and secure it in place by stitching or using a lighter to melt the end.

Step 4: Attach the Strap to the Slipper

Now that we have our strap ready, it’s time to attach it to the slipper. Depending on the design of your slipper, you may need to sew or glue the strap in place. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions if available, or use a strong adhesive to secure the strap.

Step 5: Test and Adjust

Once the strap is attached, put on your slippers and test the fit. Make any necessary adjustments by loosening or tightening the strap. Ensure that the straps are comfortable and securely attached to the slippers.
